The sports, roughly in order of depth
Football carries the widest line: match result, both teams to score, totals, handicaps, corners, cards, and player markets on the bigger fixtures. European leagues run through the evening in Bangladesh time, which suits a player who is already awake.
Kabaddi deserves a mention that it rarely gets. It is fast, it is well covered here, and the markets are simple enough to read from a phone during the raid.
Tennis fills the daylight hours — set betting, game handicaps, total games — and esports fills everything else, because somewhere a series is always running.
Bet types, plainly
Single
One selection, one outcome. The whole stake rides on it and nothing else can spoil it.
Accumulator
Several selections in one slip. The odds multiply together, and every leg has to land — which is why long accumulators pay so well and settle so rarely.
Handicap
A head start given to the weaker side, in goals, points or runs. It turns a foregone conclusion back into a two-sided question.
Total
Over or under a line — goals, points, games. You are betting on the shape of the match rather than on who wins it.
Live
Prices that move while the match runs. Markets close and reopen around key events.
Cash out
Where offered, closing a bet early for a settled figure instead of waiting for the result.
Reading a price without doing arithmetic
Decimal odds are a multiplier and nothing more: the number times the stake is what returns if the bet wins, the stake included. A price of 2.00 returns double. A price of 1.20 returns a fifth on top.
The useful part is that the number also carries the bookmaker's opinion. Divide one by the price and you get the implied chance — 2.00 means roughly fifty per cent, 1.20 means better than four in five. When your own reading of a match differs from that figure, you have found the reason to place a bet. When it agrees, you have found a coin toss with a margin on top.
Sportsbook questions
Tap a question to open the answer.
What happens to an accumulator if one match is postponed?
That leg is voided and the accumulator recalculates on the remaining selections. It does not lose the whole slip.
Are live prices the same as the pre-match ones?
No. Live markets carry a wider margin, because the book is being adjusted continuously against events on the field.
Is esports settled like traditional sport?
Yes — match winner, map handicaps and totals work the same way. Only the vocabulary changes.
